Looking for God

Why should we seek God

These days a lot of people go looking for all sorts of things on the Internet.

But the most important in life is often overlooked.

The Creator of the universe is the divine Creator of everything. He had a purpose and plan with His creation and wished a good relationship with His creation.

After that something had gone wrong the Sovereign Creator exceeded measures. The creatures who are created in His image, after their fall would have to bear all responsibility for themselves and should be on their own for arranging things themselves. They themselves from the fall onwards are responsible for what happens in this system of things, this world.

But it is God’s intention that man would seek Him and that people, all groping, might find Him. That Creator does not have to be cared for by man. Human hands can do Him nothing and can not give Him anything that does not yet belong to Him. The God of gods needs nothing and man himself can not give Him that was not His. Indeed, it is Him who made our life and breath and all that we need. He, Jehovah God greater than all gods of this world, has let all the nations come from one man, who was created by Him, and scattered them over the earth. He notes how long they would live and within what limits they have to live. He also is the One who decided that man would seek Him, in the hope of (perhaps after much groping) them finding Him.

Yet, God is not far from us, for in Him we live and move and have our being, also when not many do want to know about Him. Each creature has inherited something from that divinity. Created in His image we all bear some characteristic from that divine DNA.
All of us have emerged from Him. Because we are of God arisen, however, we should not think that we can represent Him in gold, silver or stone. God can not be captured in a work of art or the imagination of a man. Patiently for a long time, God has endured the stupidity of people, but now calls them all to a complete turnaround. For He has set a day when He will judge mankind, by a man whom He has appointed for that purpose. He’s already foreseen at the beginning of the world. At the beginning of mankind, after man rebelled against God, the Most High provided a solution for man.  His promises for a saviour were repeated several times. It was the sent one of God that would declare God and make Him known better. If we get to know this man and will come to see that he is the way to God, we are already a lot further on our journey to find God and to have Him be found.

To ensure everyone that God will keep His Word, He also let that Nazarene man come back from the dead, which is something which seems impossible. Though it happened to serve as an example of what can happen to us.

Acts 17:25-31 (TS2009)
25 “Nor is He served with men’s hands – as if needing any – Himself giving to all life, and breath, and all else. 26 “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having ordained beforehand the times and the boundaries of their dwelling, 27 to seek the Master, if at least they would reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. 28 “For in Him we live and move and are, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ 29 “Now then, since we are the offspring of Elohim, we should not think that the Elohim is like gold or silver or stone, an image made by the skill and thought of man. 30 “Truly, then, having overlooked these times of ignorance, Elohim now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has set a day on which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed,b having given proof of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” Footnote: bSee Act 10:42.

You might think and say:

“Why does God not just let Him see and let Him be easy to find?” .

Though it is not that God made it difficult to find Him. God has indeed put his fingerprints on this world.

If God exists, why does He let me look for Him and do I have to find Him?”

you might say.

Many millennia ago, it was man himself who took distance from God. Man himself had doubts about the power and righteousness of God. Man thought he himself could make decisions and therefore considered God completely unnecessary. That is why God has given preliminary-decision in the hands of man.

Over the years, God did not let man down. He was always nearby to jump in where needed. He has also given regular signals to let the people know that He was there for them and that He wanted to be found.

And what if I’m looking already for a long time, but God and the meaning of my life still are not clear to me?”

Well that is a question we have to answer with a question. How beautiful life furthermore can be, we understand that it can cause frustration.

But did the extent to which you wanted be sufficient? Or how much you want to dedicate yourself to come to God?

Did you perhaps keep your mind intimately connected to that what happens in the world? Is your heart perhaps closer to the world than to the One you are looking for?

You should know that because God knows the heart and examines it, He knows your motivation and your intention, and for sure, will account for that. For us, you can hide a lot, but for God, you can’t hide anything.

1 Samuel 16:7  (TS2009)
But יהוה said to Shemu’ĕl, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him, for not as man sees, for man looks at the eyes, but יהוה {Jehovah} looks at the heart.”

In case He knows your inner, realize that He sees it when you have wrong intentions, or if you are not willing to correctly set your search, He will not come to the rescue. As in any good relationship, there must be mutual trust. And when you go looking for God will have to listen to Him when He gives signals.

If you go looking with a magnifying glass you should look through that glass and should try to decipher what it increases. No difference with God.

If you go looking for God, there must be a good reason. And you need to really start this quest. Nobody can force you to it, because with compulsion you still get nowhere. It must come of your own accord, deep in your heart. It is Him that you will eventually have to find to serve Him sincerely. For the Lord and Master of all, Elohim Hashem, Jehovah, whose name is Holy, sees and knows everything.

We can not know what is going on in your mind, but God knows that. For the Almighty searches all hearts, also the ones form those who are not yet in the faith. He, opposite to man, understands every plan and thought of each individual.  If you seek him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

1 Chronicles 28:9  (TS2009)
“As for you, my son Shelomoh, know the Elohim of your father, and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a pleasing life, for יהוה {Jehovah} searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you do seek Him, He is found by you; but if you forsake Him, He rejects you forever.

The search for God may at first look like a search for a needle in a haystack. But you will notice that it will actually be much easier than the search for contacts on the internet and to get to know them well.
God shows himself much more and lets Himself be known much better than all those “friendson social media.

We must realize that God knows everything about us, but we also have to give him that feeling that we really want Him to know all of us. We need to expose ourselves to Him. We have Him to look in our hearts and have our minds be examined by Him.

Look at the prayer of King David that can be of help for you too

Psalms 139:23 (TS2009)
23 Search me, O Ěl, and know my heart; Try me, and know my thoughts;

Many of us want to earn as much money as possible in this world. Most people have set their hopes on material treasures. They think that all that matter can bring them luck and happiness, but they will have to find that it can be the opposite.

Lots of people drown in the matter and lose human values. Some of them so severely that they could even be a brute for others.

Maybe sooner than one expects, one will come to realize that all that matter is impermanent and perishable.

Nowadays youngsters very quickly find something outdated and not good anymore. The smartphone of today a few months later is considered old and after a year or so it is already seen as an old-fashioned thing. After three years, many even do not want to have it.

If we set our eyes on the perishable things and when our hearts are completely under the spell of that matter, there will be little room for the imperishable and spiritual. God wants us to pay more attention to the spiritual, which is of much higher value for Him.

Old computers can now for many no longer be of working to capacity. Many are nothing with it. That scum that several years ago seemed to be a wonderful thing now turned out to be written off and replaced with much faster devices, which have also become much thinner and more manageable.

For the Most Supreme it comes down to you using your inside computer to work as well as possible. Being your own radar works which will have to do their job and having you to come to understand.

Recognizing that all these gadgets may lose their value quickly and that a lot of things that man makes end up in the incinerator. It like the many things man makes will flow to the other waste that humans produce. When we try to look further than those things and put our hopes on the unseen, we will have to esteem the values of God’s creation.

As the metals from the rocks must be won by making it clean in the furnace, we must have the master blacksmith let us edit the freshening by His fire. Only as you want to be purified in God’s furnace you shall observe meaningful answers and find solutions for you and for all man.

Proverbs 17:3  (TS2009)
A refining pot is for silver and a furnace for gold, But יהוה {Jehovah} tries the hearts.

It is easy to surf the net and there is plenty to find. But by the trees, many no longer see the forest.

All that wonderful information out there must also be found able to analyse and to be sorted.

Some think soon they found it. Many also think soon they do it nice and good.

Proverbs 21:2  (TS2009)
All a man’s ways are right in his own eyes, But יהוה weighs the hearts.

Because God analyses and knows everyone where they want to go, God puts them to the test and that they themselves may come to conclusions which are more in line with where their heart really lies.

Romans 8:27  (TS2009)
And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the set-apart ones according to Elohim.

If you want to enter the correct strategy and will go seriously looking for God He will be ready to stand before you.

He will also provide the necessary safety nets, because knows that the search for God will not always go smoothly.

Because God has too many opponents that other people will want to make it difficult to find the One True God. Therefore, you will need to be alert in your quest and must attempt to decipher the intentions of others.

Do you want to know why you have not gotten the answers you will need to examine what is really going on in your head.

In your head you will have to put first everything in order. Knowing for yourself you want to be of this world or of the world of God. Once you’re good for determining where you want to go, you will be able to begin the search for God and you will be able to count on it that He will come up with answers this time according to His time frame.

If you open yourself up to learn, you will find that gradually all the pieces will fit together nicely.

You just have to give yourself time to gain insight. This is only possible if you absolutely want to open up to God, the Almighty Most High.

There are many reasons to go looking for God.

Who does not want to know where they come from and why we live here and why there is so much to suffer or to perform to go around. You may find answers to all your questions on this site and our sibling site.

To know the value of this life and why God allows suffering to many, it is best to seek God and His motives and to know His plan.

clinging to the trustworthy word, according to the teaching, in order to be able both to encourage by sound teaching, and to convicta those who oppose it. Footnote: aRather: confute, or prove wrong.

1 Corinthians 10:11  (TS2009)
And all these came upon them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come,

2 Timothy 2:21  (TS2009)
If, then, anyone cleanses himself from these matters, he shall be a vessel unto value, having been set apart, of good use to the Master, having been prepared for every good work.

1 Timothy 6:11  (TS2009)
But you, O man of Elohim, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, reverence, belief, love, endurance, meekness.

If you are willing to work to meet these qualities God requires from us, you shall come to feel how God shall go with you on your quest to find the truth and to find Him.  You shall come to feel how God shall come to work in yourself. God shall stretch out His Hand. As your search continues you shall come to see the usefulness of seeking to discover God and realize that He is the best solution for all your life, the greatest treasure out there that exists in the world.
