Bible our Guide

As Christians we claim to be following Christ. Doing so we also believe in the same God as this Nazarene Jew did, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The mediator between God and man whom we are following and are accepting as the Cornerstone of our community, knew very well the writings of the chosen men of God. Like he took the scrolls we take those writings assembled in one great best-seller, as the Best Book we ought to follow.

Though not written by one man it is inspired by One Great Power, who is the Most High God, Maker Eternal Supreme Being, who asked His chosen men to write down for Him, so that mankind could hear His Voice.

The Book of books is a collection of 66 small books (39 in Hebrew and partly in Aramaic & 27 in Greek) written by more than 40 different men over a period of about 1,600 years, which ended around 1,900 years ago. Even though these writers had limited scientific knowledge, they wrote about facts that became known only thousands of years later. For example, one Bible writer stated that the earth is ‘hanging upon nothing,’ and another described the earth as a circle, or sphere. These facts were not generally known at the time of the writing but were proved true by scientists only in relatively recent times.

Though man can not see God and live, His invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship.

Exodus 33:18-23 (RNKJV)
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of יהוה before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21 And יהוה {Jehovh} said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

The world has to come to know the Divine Creator by His Holy or set-apart Name and should get to know about His Plan which has been there from the beginning of times. That is all written down, not of any private interpretation, in that collection of books which withstood the times.

2 Peter 1:21  (RNKJV)
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of יהוה spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

By reading all those books from that collection, being grouped by those of before and those after the birth of Jesus, being called the Old Testament or Judaic or Hebrew Writings and the New Testament or Messianic writings. They all are connected to each other and none can be excluded. Therefore, it is wrong to consider only the New Testament to be relevant for a Christian.

John 10:35  (RNKJV)
If he called them elohim, unto whom the word of יהוה came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

The Bible tells us that if we search for Truth and for God, He will let Himself be found by the one who is willing to look for God and to give him more insight and wisdom. You have to know that there exists a God in the heavens Who, though He can not be seen by man, is a Revealer of secrets. The El Shaddai Who appeared unto Abraham, the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed His confidential matter to his servants the prophets.

1 Peter 1:12  (RNKJV)
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

1 Chronicles 28:9 (RNKJV)
9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the Elohim of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for יהוה searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

Daniel 2:28  (RNKJV)
But there is an Elohim in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known ….

Amos 3:7 (RNKJV)
7 Surely the Sovereign יהוה will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

The Bible is truly a unique book. It contains the most accurate record of human history and even goes back beyond the creation of humans. It is also up-to-date, for its prophecies have to do with events of our time and of the near future too.

No other book has such credentials for historical accuracy. For example, only a few manuscripts of ancient classical writers exist. But many manuscripts, some partial and some complete, exist of the Bible: about 6,000 of the Hebrew Scriptures (the 39 books of the “Old Testament”) and about 13,000 of the Christian Greek Scriptures (the 27 books of the “New Testament”).

All of them are inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (RNKJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of יהוה, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of יהוה may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
